SvD at Freyja

The magazine SvD at Freyja

SvD swung by the terrace Söder and had a lot of praise to offer.

“High above Södermalm’s rooftops, restaurant Freyja floats. Another step up, under the open sky, is Freyja’s own roof terrace called Söder. Here you can find everything you could want for a full evening – a hot dog stand, two bars and a schedule packed with entertainment. However, all of this pales in comparison to the breathtaking views you are treated to while sipping on a cooled glass of rosé.”

We are one of seven sunny terraces that SvD recommends for the summer, thank you Svenskan!

Café pops up on the rooftop

Sizzling fresh from the magazine Café about our new terrace Söder up at Freyja’s.

“Summer, sun and a better rooftop bar is the recipe for success if you’re looking for a successful summer evening. Now Stockholm and Södermalm has a new, summer-fresh, addition to the city’s rooftop-scene. Last week, the new Södermalm restaurant Freyja opened its roof terrace, which offers an unbeatable panoramic view of Djurgården, Gamla Stan, Riddarfjärden and Södermalm. A view that bar manager Jimmy Dymott describes as “insane”.

At Söder, there is room for 400 bar guests. Here, graffiti art gathers on the walls, there’s a sausage stand and two bars that offer cocktails with Södermalm-influenced names and summery flavors.

Café’s cocktail recommendation at Freyja: the rhubarb and vodka drink Rabalder.

Praised be Rasmus

A powder pink piece representing famous Swedish breakfast condiment “Kalle’s caviar”. A carrot with eyes that stick out. A golden poodle. When Rasmus Nossbring, who recently got
The Swedish National Museum’s prize “Young Artisans of the Year”, creates his unique glass sculptures its important to him to combine technical skill with humor and innovation.

“Each work is a like a short story based on memories, interpreted through my hands. They are a way for me to articulate my thoughts and to invite the viewer to make their own associations”.

This week’s musician, the better half of the week on the terrace of Söder and indoors at Freyja.

Strong color full shapes by Åsa Johansson

No one who has been to Freyja can miss the graceful sculptures in the dining room, whose unique color and shape make guests reach for their smartphones. The artist behind the 150 centimeter high ceramic objects is Åsa Johansson, who last year obtained her master’s degree from the esteemed art school Konstfack in Stockholm. Åsa Johansson is already a favorite among the young generation of art lovers and on Instagram under the appropriate alias @glassilass. Later this spring, a two-meter high sculpture signed by Åsa will be placed on the terrace – and we’re already looking forward to it.
